Timeline

The Yellowhead Project has the potential to become one of the largest copper mines in North America

Located in the Thompson‐Nicola region of British Columbia, the Yellowhead Copper Project is approximately 150 km northeast of Kamloops BC.

It is a proposed open pit copper mine designed with a production capacity of 90,000 tonnes of ore per day over a 25-year mine life.

Yellowhead would create approximately 525 direct jobs during mine operations and is well supported by existing, high-quality transportation infrastructure and a skilled and capable local workforce.

With a $2 billion after-tax NPV, Yellowhead is a world-class copper project in a tier-one jurisdiction and a major growth project for Trekor

With a total life of mine production of 4.4 billion pounds of copper, 282 thousand ounces of gold and 19.4 million ounces of silver, future development of the Yellowhead Project will significantly increase Trekor’s annual copper production and cash flow.

Yellowhead Project enters provincial, federal, and Indigenous-led assessment processes

The Yellowhead Project has entered into the Environmental Assessment (EA) process led by the BC Environmental Assessment Office and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada. In addition, Trekor has commenced the Simpcw Process, a six-step Indigenous-led assessment and decision-making process.

These regulatory processes are designed to be comprehensive, inclusive, and transparent, ensuring the project meets British Columbia’s and Canada’s robust regulatory requirements while balancing environmental, social, and economic values.

Trekor has launched a dedicated project website, to keep stakeholders informed about project details and status, share opportunities for feedback, and encourage participation in the EA process.

2025

Environmental Assessment Process Launched

The Yellowhead Project entered into the Environmental Assessment process led by the BC Environmental Assessment Office and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada. Trekor also launched a dedicated project website, yellowheadproject.com, to support transparent and accessible engagement.

Updated Project Economics

Trekor announced improved economics and filed an updated technical report, titled “Technical Report Update on the Yellowhead Copper Project" dated July 10, 2025.

2024

Community Office Opened

In June 2024, the Yellowhead Project celebrated the grand opening of the Barriere Business Centre and the Yellowhead Project office. In the heart of Barriere, the Yellowhead Project office will serve as a space for community engagement and site staff.

2024

Simpcw Process Commenced

The Project formally entered the Simpcw Process – a six-step, Indigenous-led assessment and decision-making process.

2020

Updated Mineral Reserve Estimate

Trekor announced increased mineral reserves and filed a technical report, titled “Technical Report on the Mineral Reserve Update at the Yellowhead Copper Project” dated January 16, 2020, which summarized improvements in the environmental and economic performance of the project.

2019

Trekor Acquired the Yellowhead Project

Trekor acquired the Yellowhead Project for $16 million, adding to its pipeline of high-quality development projects.
